World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development and WED2022 Hackathon (posted on 24.12.2021)

To our stakeholders: The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), in cooperation with the International Engineering Alliance (IEA), of which MÜDEK is a member, organizing an international competition named as WED2022 Hackathon for engineering students, on 04.03.2022 corresponding the day March 4th which was declared as the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development by UNESCO.

MÜDEK IT Manager Takes Office (posted on 06.12.2021)

Barış Tümer has been appointed to the newly created MÜDEK IT Manager position as of 01.12.2021. He will be responsible for the organization and execution of MÜDEK IT operations. 2021 Evaluator Update Training Held (Posted on 21.11.2021)

The 2021 Update Training, planned for the current MÜDEK evaluators, was completed with a meeting held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, between 10:00-13:30, via Zoom.

The update training was carried out in 2 parts. Part I of the training was carried out as an individual study on Google Platform between October 31 - November 20, 2021. 86 MÜDEK Volunteers attended the first part of the training.

Part II of the update training was held on November 20, 2021 as a question-answer session. This part was conducted by Bülent E. Platin, Z. Jale Akyel, A. Erbil Payzın, and Ramazan Yıldırım and it was attended by 75 MÜDEK Volunteers.

MÜDEK Remote Workshop for Student Evaluator Candidates (posted on 14.11.2021)

The MÜDEK remote workshop for training candidates of MÜDEK student program evaluator is held in virtual environment by MÜDEK 
Executive Board Member Engin Arıkan on November 14, 2021 (Sunday). Fourteen invited students are participated in the workshop as student program evaluator candidates in different engineering disciplines from various universities.


Bülent E. Platin Delivered ZİDEK Training (Posted on 14.11.2021)

The coordinator of MÜDEK Advisory Board Bülent E. Platin delivered a training titled "Self-Evaluation Report Analysis and Some Critical Points in ZİDEK Program Evaluations" in a workshop, which was held on November 14, 2021 via Zoom to the attendees formed by evaluation team chairs and co-chairs of ZİDEK (Agricultural Faculties Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association).

Accreditation Applications for 2022-2023 Term (Posted on 05.11.2021)

Applications for accreditation evaluation in the 2022-2023 term will be received in January 2022. Details of the application process will be announced in our website in the second half of December.

MÜDEK Evaluations Go Remote in 2021-2022 Cycle (Posted on 08.07.2021)

MAK Accreditation Decision Meeting (Posted on: 01.07.2021)

MAK meeting at which accreditation decisions for 2020 are made is held on 27.06.2021. In the meeting, out of 124 engineering programs evaluated in the 2020-2021 accreditation cycle, full term accreditation is granted to 19 programs, extended accreditation until next general review is granted to 26 programs, accreditation with interim review is granted to 70 programs, and no accreditation is given to 9 programs.

A. Erbil Payzın Conducted ZİDEK Training (Posted on 22.06.2021)

MÜDEK MÜDEK Advisory Board Member A. Erbil Payzın conducted a ZİDEK (Association of Evaluation and Accreditation of Educational Programs of Faculties of Agriculture) training workshop over Zoom on June 19, 2021 between 10:00-17:00 hours. The workshop titled Best Practices in Program Evaluations: Suggestions for Team Chairs and Members is attended by the members of ZİDEK Executive Board, Accreditation Board, and Advisory Board.

2021 MÜDEK Training for Institution Representatives (posted on 06.06.2021)

MÜDEK training is held in May 2021 for institution representatives.

In the first part of the training which is conducted asynchronously over Google Classroom, 346 representatives are participated from 96 institutions.

In the second part of the training, which is held in the form of a video conference with the participation of 152 institution representatives from 66 institutions on May 29, 2021, the questions asked by the participants before and during the meeting are answered by MÜDEK trainers.

Circular of the Ministry of Interior- MÜDEK Office is Temporarily Closed (posted on 29.04.2021)

MÜDEK Office will be closed until May 17th, 2021 upon the �Circular on Measures During Full Closure� by the Ministry of Interior dated April 28th, 2021. In this context, we want to announce the followings.

  1. Those stakeholders of us desired to contact our office should make this contact via the e-mail addresses in the http://www.mudek.org.tr/en/vs/ilet.shtm page instead of by phone,
  2. Since all mail and cargo sent to our office cannot be received within this period, scanned and copied versions of signed document(s) can be sent electronically provided that their originals will be sent later, and
  3. Non-urgent articles and documents can be forwarded to the office by fax.

We wish you healthy days, hoping that all our stakeholders will accept this inconvenient situation with understanding.

MÜDEK General Assembly Postponed (posted on 15.04.2021)

In accordance with Article 6 of the Ministry of Interior's circular on "Partial Closure" dated 14.04.2021, it was decided to postpone the MÜDEK General Assembly meeting, which was previously decided to be held on Wednesday, 21 April 2021, to a new date to be determined later.

A. Erbil Payzın Attending TMMOB Meeting (posted on: 15.04.2021)

A. Erbil Payzın, member of MÜDEK Advisory Board, will attend the meeting of TMMOB Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning Remote Education and Accreditation Working Group to be held on 20.04.2021 and make a presentation on behalf of MÜDEK.

2021 MÜDEK Training for Institution Representatives (posted on 04.04.2021)

MÜDEK Training will be held in May 2021 for administrators and faculty members responsible for engineering undergraduate programs planning to apply for MÜDEK evaluation or to make improvements in their programs according to MÜDEK criteria.

The training will be carried out in two parts in a virtual environment. The first part will be held asynchronously on Google Classroom and will be available to participants as of May 1, 2021. The second part of the training will take place on Zoom on May 29, 2021, with a more limited number of participants.

Pre-registration for the first part of the training is required by Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the latest. Please note that participants of the training will be determined according to the order of pre-registration.

MÜDEK Operational Regulations Updated (posted on 03.04.2021)

With the decision taken at the meeting of the MÜDEK General Assembly held on 26.03.2021, the document
has been updated and published.

Previously, only "Not Accredited" decisions could have been appealed. But with the updated regulation, appealing is made possible for all MÜDEK accreditation decisions.

Overseeing Visit by THEQC (posted on 26.02.2021)

MÜDEK's 2020 overseeing visit by THEQC (Turkish Higher Education Quality Council) in connection with the Overseeing External Evaluation and Accreditation Agencies was conducted in Zoom environment on February 17, 2021 Wednesday. The visiting team in charge of the administration of overseeing process for MÜDEK was composed by THEQC Vice Chair Sibel Aksu Yıldırım and THEQC Academic Advisor Yasin Tunç.

In the first session of the visit, attended by Chair Timur Doğu, Vice Chair Müjgan Sağır, and member Engin Arıkan of the MÜDEK Executive Board, MAK Chair Şebnem Baydere, Secretary General Z. In the second session of the visit, a focus group study wass conducted with the participation of the Past Chair of MAK Filiz B. Dilek, experienced evaluators A. Erbil Payzın and İsmail Duranyıldız, and student evaluators Meltem Uzuner and Oğuz Şen and mutual opinions were exchanged between two teams.

Celebrating World Engineering Day (posted on 30.01.2021)

March 4th is declared as the World Engineering Day by UNESCO to highlight the achievements of engineers and engineering in our modern world and improve public understanding of how engineering and technology is central to modern life and sustainable development.

II. UNESCO Engineering Report prepared by the contributions of several international institutions will be made public at that date.

Training Committee Renewed (posted on 08.01.2021)

MÜDEK Training Committee is renewed by the MÜDEK Executive Board at its meeting dated 23.12.2020 and numbered 2020-18. Following members will serve a 2-year term in the committee starting from 01.01.2021 until 31.12.2022.

MAK Members for the 2021-2022 Term (posted on 01.01.2021)

Following members of MÜDEK MAK (Engineering Programs Accreditation Board) for 2021-2022 years started their terms of service as of 01.01.2021.

MAK services of A. Bülent Özgüler who served 4 terms as MAK member since 2013 and Şeyda Keskin who served as KalDer representative since 11.05.2019 in the last term ended as of December 31, 2020. Thanks go to them for their very precious services.

We welcome two new members, Berçin Gün as KalDer representative and Cüneyt Güzeliş as University representative, who joined MAK as of 01.01.2021. Wishing a productive and successful term to the new MAK team.
