Accreditation Evaluation Fees for 2019-2020 Evaluation Cycle (posted on 23.11.2018)

New accreditation evaluation fees for those programs which will be evaluated in the 2019-2020 evaluation cycle are determined by the Executive Board at its meeting numbered 2018-11 and dated 23.11.2018 as given in the following table.

Yavuz Erçil Attended Mutual Recognition in Higher Education Meeting for Black Sea Economic Cooperation Countries (Posted on 18.11.2018)  

MÜDEK Secretary General M. Yavuz Erçil attended as MÜDEK representative to the Development of Information Network on the Mutual Recognition for Sustainable Quality in Higher Education meeting organized by Black Sea Economic Cooperation(BSEC) Higher Education Council (HEC) in İstanbul on November 12, 2018. The workshop was attended by representatives of HEC and Higher Education Quality Board as well as the representatives of other accreditation bodies.
Application of "Show Cause" Decision Will Cease Gradually (Posted on 25.10.2018)

The proclamation of Executive Board on the "Request for Opinion on the Rescission of Show Cause Decision in the MÜDEK Accreditation Process" was published in the MÜDEK website on 11.06.2018 and it was opened to stakeholder opinion through the General Secretariat of MDK.

Constituent views on this proclamation submitted to MÜDEK were examined by the Engineering Education Accreditation Board (MAK) and a propal is submitted to MÜDEK Executive Board. The MÜDEK Executive Board, with its decision dated 16.10.2018 and numbered 2018-09, concluded to gradually remove the "Show Cause" accreditation decisions and "Show Cause" evaluations made as a result of these decisions as explained below in accordance with the MAK proposal.

  1. "Show Cause" evaluation process will continue for those programs which applied for evaluation in the 2018-2019 cycle with a "Show Cause" decision.
  2. "Show Cause" accreditation decisions can be made as a result of the evaluations made in 2019 and 2020 for those programs which will be in the Interim Assessment process in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 cycles. "Show Cause" evaluations of these programs will be made in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 cycles.
  3. If a "Show Cause" situation occurs for a program which will undergo "General Review" process for the first time in 2018-2019 cycle or in subsequent cycles, a "Not to Accredit" decision will be given for this program. No "Show Cause" evaluations will be made anymore in the 2021-2022 cycle and in the following cycles. In such a case, the accreditation of an accredited program will terminate at the end of its term. Programs whose accreditation are terminated will be able to apply again for the next cycle for a "General Review".

MAK Accreditation Decision Meeting (Posted on: 30.06.2018)

MAK meeting at which accreditation decisions for 2018 are made is held on 30.06.2018. In the meeting, out of 101 engineering programs evaluated in the 2017-2018 accreditation cycle, full term accreditation is granted to 13 programs, extended accreditation until next general review is granted to 40 programs, accreditation with interim review is granted to 43 programs, and not to accredit decision is made for 5 programs.

Sergei Gerasimov (AEER) is attended the meeting as ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) representative in the context of renewing MÜDEK's authorization for another 5 years to issue EUR-ACE (Bachelor) Label to those programs that are accredited by MÜDEK.
MÜDEK Accreditation Manager Takes up Office (posted on 18.06.2018)

A new position of Accreditation Manager is established by the MÜDEK Executive Board and Z. Serhan Başer is appointed to this position as of 18.06.2018. Higher Education Quality Council Extended MÜDEK's Quality Evaluation and Registration Certificate for 5 Years (09.03.2018)

Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) extended the validity of MÜDEK's Quality Evaluation and Registration Certificate for a period of 5 years starting from February 1, 2018 in its General Assembly meeting on January 31, 2018. This certificate had been issued to MÜDEK first time in 2007 by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) of Turkey for 5 years and it was re-issued by YÖK again for another 5 years in 2013. Leuven Communiqué Document Published (posted on 15.01.2018)

A document titled "Leuven Communiqué" is published as a "final report" summarizing the topics covered in the 1. ENAEE Members Forum meeting held in Leuven on October 18-19, 2017. The communiqué is the summary of the conclusions and recommendations issued from 9 parallel workshops and 3 break-out sessions attended by 75 individuals actively engaged in EUR-ACE accreditations.
