Accreditation Fees for 2013-2014 Evaluation Cycle Determined (02.10.2012)

Accreditation fees for 2013-2014 evaluation cycle are determined by MÜDEK Executive Committee as in the following manner.

  1. Institution fee used to apply in previous years is abolished.

  2. Accreditation fee for each program to be evaluated is given in the following table.

MAK Members for the 2013-2014 Term (18.07.2012)

According to the rules set by MÜDEK Operational Regulations, Hamit Serbest who is currently holding Past Chair position will step down from MAK membership on December 31, 2012, Ahmet Aran who is currently MAK Chair will take over Past Chair position on January 01, 2013 and Timur Doğu who is currently MAK Vice-Chair will take over MAK Chair position on that date for two years.

On the other hand, among current MAK members Salih Arıman (KalDer representative) and Mustafa Çobanoğlu (industry representative) will step down from MAK membership on December 31, 2012 according to the rules since they would be completing their third and last term as MAK member.

MÜDEK Executive Board, in its meeting on July 22, 2012, decided on six members of MAK, other than Past Chair and Chair, as follows who will serve for two years starting from January 01, 2013, using the recommendations made by the Nominating Committee, TMMOB, and KalDer:

  1. The MAK membership of Orhan Alankuş, who is currently a MAK member representing industry, is extended and he is appointed as MAK Vice-Chair for two years as of January 01, 2013.
  2. The MAK membership as university representative of Ayşegül Tanık who is currently a MAK member representing university is extended for one more term as of January 01, 2013.
  3. The MAK membership as TMMOB representative of Müfit Gülgeç who is currently a MAK member representing TMMOB is extended for one more term as of January 01, 2013.
  4. A. Bülent Özgüler will serve as a newcoming MAK member representing university for 2 years as of January 01, 2013.
  5. Necat Özgür will serve as a newcoming MAK member representing industry for 2 years as of January 01, 2013.
  6. Aykut Alp Yılmaz will serve as a newcoming MAK member representing KalDer for 2 years as of January 01, 2013.

Thanks go to MAK those members, whose terms will end on December 31, 2012 for their very precious services. Wishing a productive and successful term to the new MAK team.

Global Engineering Education Seminar will be Held with the Participation of Representatives of MySET and FEIIC (30.05.2012)

MÜDEK will host a one-day event named Global Engineering Education Seminar on June 05, 2012 in Istanbul with the participation of representatives from Malaysian Society for Engineering & Technology (MySET) and Federation of Engineering Institutions of Islamic Countries (FEIIC). The meeting will be held in MÜDEK headquarters and will have the main purpose of exploring the possibilities for future cooperation of MÜDEK with MySET and FEIIC. The meeting will be open only to invited participants.

The preregistration for workshop applications should be made to calistay@mudek.org.tr address by e-mail by providing the information listed in the workshop call by April 20, 2012 (Friday), the latest.

Pilot Study Begins on the Participation of Student Members in MÜDEK Evaluation Process (10.02.2012))

MÜDEK has initiated a pilot study in 2012-2013 accreditation cycle in order to comply with the standards set by ESG (The European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance) about the student member participation in quality assessment teams. The guidelines to be used in this practice are accepted as Version 1.0 in the MÜDEK Executive Board meeting numbered 2012-02 held on 04.02.2012 and become effective. (no English version yet)
