Bülent Özgüler, MÜDEK member and Former Chair of MÜDEK-MAK, conducted a training workshop held on November 11, 2019 for a group of 20 participants consisting of the members of DEPAD (Association for Accreditation of Dentistry Education Programs) Executive Board, UDEPAK (National Dental Education Accreditation Board), and DEPAD Education Committee. This one-day workshop covered the topics like accreditation, association structuring, evaluation process, and accreditation decisions.

The purpose of this workshop was to discuss various activities of the ZİDEK accreditation process in the scope of roles played by the members of Executive Board and Accreditation Board in order this process to be identified better.

Timur Doğu Attended National Quality Agencies Meeting (Posted on 08.10.2019)
Chair of MÜDEK Executive Board Timur Doğu attended as MÜDEK representative to the meeting held at HEQC (Higher Education Quality Council) on October 01, 2019. Representatives 12 national accreditation agencies (MÜDEK, TEPDAD, FEDEK, VEDEK, EPDAD, HEPDAK, İLAD-İLEDAK, SABAK, TUADER-TURAK, ECZAKDER, TPD and İAA) attended the meeting. During the meeting, participants were informed about the approaches, goals, and activities of HEQC, numbers and disciplines of programs accredited, as well as HEQC's collaborations with international quality agencies.

Revision Draft of Evaluation Criteria for Undergraduate Programs Opened for Feedback to MÜDEK Constituencies (Posted on 10.08.2019)

Revision Draft on the Evaluation Criteria for FC (Bachelor) Programs document used to evaluate undergraduate engineering programs is now open for feedback to MÜDEK constituencies. Revisions on the draft document aim to clarify and provide interpretation to certain concepts in the criteria.

MAK Accreditation Decision Meeting (Posted on: 30.06.2019)
 
MAK meeting at which accreditation decisions for 2019 are made is held on 29.06.2019. In the meeting, out of 128 engineering programs evaluated in the 2018-2019 accreditation cycle, full term accreditation is granted to 11 programs, extended accreditation until next general review is granted to 20 programs, accreditation with interim review is granted to 94 programs, and not to accredit decision is made for 3 programs.

MÜDEK's Authorization to Issue EUR-ACE Label Extended till End of 2023 (30.06.2019)

MÜDEK's authorization to issue EUR-ACE Label to its accredited Bachelor engineering programs is extended until 31 December 2023 by Administrative Council of ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) in its meeting on May 27, 2019. [Authorization Certificate]

MÜDEK had been first authorized to issue EUR-ACE Label on January 21, 2009 and the last extension of this authorization was granted until June 30, 2019.

MÜDEK, is one of 15 accreditation agencies in Europe having the authorization to issue EUR-ACE label as of 2019.

Birgül Tantekin-Ersolmaz, member of MÜDEK Advisory Board, is appointed as ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) Vice President at the ENAEE Administrative Council (AC) meeting held on March 26, 2019. MÜDEK is a member of ENAEE and Birgül Tantekin-Ersolmaz was elected as an AC member at the ENAEE General Assembly held on November 22, 2018 to serve her second 3-year term starting as of January 01, 2019. We congratulate Birgül Tantekin-Ersolmaz for her appointment to this important post in the upper administration of this umbrella organization in the area of accreditation of engineering education in Europe and wish her a successful term at this post.

Filiz B. Dilek, Chair of MÜDEK Accreditation Board and Müjgan Sağır, Vice-Chair of MÜDEK Executive Board, as MÜDEK reresentatives, attended the Meeting of External Auditing Agencies in Higher Education organized by YÖKAK (Higher Education Quality Council) in Ankara on April 02, 2019. At the end of the meeting, a Quality Auditing Authorization Certificate is presented to MÜDEK representatives. The validity of MÜDEK's authorization was extended until January 31, 2023 for 5 years by the decision of YÖKAK dated January 31, 2018.

MÜDEK Directive on Policies and Procedures for Evaluation and Accreditation is updated and published as version 3.0 at the meeting of MÜDEK Executive Board on January 19, 2019. The amended version of the directive has some editorial improvements as well as a set of rules regulating interim applications of Show Cause evaluation until 2021 after its termination by MÜDEK Executive Board decision dated October 16, 2018 and numbered 2018-09. Bülent E. Platin Attended 4th Civil Engineering Departmnt Chairs Meeting (posted on 25.01.2019)
 
Bülent E. Platin, member of MÜDEK Advisory Board, attended as MÜDEK Representative to the 4th Civil Engineering Department Chairs Meeting on January 19, 2019, organized by the Chamber of Civil Engineers in Ankara. He responded to some questions directed on accreditation and MÜDEK as well as delivered information on some topics needed clarification.
MAK Members for the 2019-2020 Term (posted on 01.01.2019)

Following members of MÜDEK MAK (Engineering Programs Accreditation Board) for 2019-2020 years started their terms of service as of 01.01.2019. MAK services of Orhan Alankuş who served 4 terms since 2011 as MAK member, MAK Vice-Chair, MAK Chair, and MAK Past Chair, respectively, of M. Necat Özgür who served 3 terms since 2013 as industry representative, and of Berçin Gün who served 1 term since 2017 as KalDer representative ended as of December 31, 2018. Thanks go to them for their very precious services. Wishing a productive and successful term to the new MAK team.
