MÜDEK is recognized by the Higher Education Quality Board of Turkey as the National Quality Assurance Agency in accrediting engineering programs.

MÜDEK is a full member of ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education).

MÜDEK is authorized by ENAEE to award EUR-ACE Label.

MÜDEK is a Washington Accord Signatory of International Engineering Alliance.

DRAFT OF NEW EVALUATION CRITERIA

MÜDEK has been conducting an updating study for the evaluation criteria used for the evaluation of undergraduate engineering programs since 2003 in order to review them for the accommodation of experiences gained since their onset as well as recent developments in this respect nationally and internationally.

After reaching to a certain maturity, we want to open the draft of new criteria document to the views of MÜDEK constituents for feedback before deciding on its final version.

Draft document titled " Evaluation Criteria for Engineering Education Programs" dated July 10, 2008, covers only the General Criteria section of MÜDEK Evaluation Criteria. This section is common for for all engineering disciplines. As far as the program specific criteria located in the Section II of the document, the program criteria in the current evaluation criteria (Mühendislik Programlarının Değerlendirme Ölçütleri, Sürüm 1.1 – 26.12.2007) will continue to be used for the time being.

During the preparation of draft document titled "Evaluation Criteria for Engineering Education Programs" dated July 10, 2008, it has been tried to bring clarification to those points which are not clear enough and/or open to different interpretations in the current MÜDEK evaluation criteria. In addition, the conformity of all the criteria (chiefly program outcomes) to the

national framework of qualifications at undergraduate level determined by (MDK) Engineering Deans Council,
EUR-ACE framework standards (first cycle) and
program outcomes defined for undergraduate engineering programs in the Washington Accord

were sought.

We ask you to send your views and suggestions on the draft document of evaluation criteria dated July 10, 2008

by ~~15.09.2008~~ (06.10.2008), the latest.

Your feedback and suggestions will help to an healthy update of MÜDEK Evaluation Criteria. They will be in effect with a certain transition period.
